Day Trippers
On Saturday Jason and I headed up to Twin Falls, Idaho with some friends for a day trip. We walked on the bridge, saw the Shoshone Falls and ate at Gertie's Brick Oven Pizza (all you can eat pizza with novelty toppings).
Here we are at the Shoshone Falls...
On the way to the Falls, we passed the Twin Falls Temple which is under construction.

Mother's Day #5
Hard to believe it, but this is my FIFTH Mother's Day as a mom! My day started with the kids sleeping in (I think - at least I didn't hear them until 8 am) and was greeted at 9 am (yep, fell back to sleep) by breakfast in bed (big thanks to Jason)!! That was one of the many things on my list of things to do before I die.
I asked Brooke and Luke if they would please behave during church today and not scream and fight during the prayers and talks and they agreed that for my Mother's Day gift they would do their best. Let me tell you, they did pretty darn well.
I was a little sad when they Primary kids got up to sing to the moms and Luke wouldn't go up (wouldn't go last year either). It has always been a dream of mine to see my own litte person up there singing their little heart out to me. Ah, well there's always next year when I know Brooke at least will get up and sing to me.
As I was helping Luke find clothes for church, I took the time to tell him "thank you" for making me a mommy. I explained that before he was born I was just a lady, but when he was born I became a mommy. We hugged and some tears came out of my eyes and there were "I love yous" and kisses given.
There were a lot of laughs and hugs and I love yous today and not a lot of yelling and fighting, so all in all, it was a very Happy Mother's Day!

Jump, Jump
Well, we finally joined the ranks of the trampoline owning. Our neighborhood is covered with them. Every time Luke comes home from visiting a friend he begs to get a trampoline. Then last Tuesday our Wal-Mart ad had a tramp and enclosure for $197. We hemmed and hawed over the decision to buy one, and all the while our children carried around said ad and begging to go to Wal-Mart to get it.
Finally we headed to Wal-Mart to get one, and they were out. Jason found one the next morning before work and that afternoon we put it together. The kids and Jason jumped on it as the rain clouds came rolling in.
It has been raining and freezing ever since, but that hasn’t stopped the little ones from bundling up and heading out to jump. Hopefully the sun and warmth will return and we can get the enclosure set up. Meanwhile, Luke will happily "clean" the tramp so he can jump in the freezing weather barefoot.

May 2, 1987
I've been thinking lately about how 20 years ago we moved overseas. That made me get out my jouranl to re-read about my past.
Here is my journal entry from May 2, 1987:
"I'm moving to Germany! May 27, 1987 for 3 years!
Today is Rachel's [Davis] birthday. She is 10 now. I have known her since she was 5 and in kindergarten. And now I’m going to miss her. My cousin Maryn is here. She is 15. She’s o.k. but I don’t care for sharing my room that much.
I don’t know if I like Jared Davis, Brian Carlson, Eric Orten or Paul Hansen. Maybe I don’t like any of them! I wonder how church will go tomorrow. I will try and record the rest of the week. I missed the cast party [for our Roadshow]. Someone forgot to call me and tell me about it."
